We had SUCH a great time on our little family vacation. Our kids have been begging to go to the beach (they have never been) so we headed to Galveston for a couple of days. It was the easy choice since it’s the closest beach to us. Galveston gets a bad rap, but we found it to be awesome! The hotel was gorgeous and right across the street from the beach, and there was basically no seaweed anywhere. The crowds were low (probably because we were there a few days before the holiday). The kids absolutely LOVED the beach…the water, the sand, the waves…everything!
The first day was extremely cloudy and we were worried it was going to rain. We got out to the beach and the weather seemed to calm down so I took some pics with my phone and sent Stephen back to the room for my big camera. Well, by the time he got back a storm was on top of us and we had to head back to the room. You can see some Instagram pics of the 45 min we were actually at the beach and some from later that night when we walked along the beach looking for crabs and shells.
After the rain, we went down to the pool for a bit…isn’t it gorgeous? The kids obviously loved this too!
I love taking pics of my kids by morning hotel window light! <3 They were very excited to get down to the beach. Some of the first pics at the beach are a bit hazy…my camera kept fogging up from the humidity!!! lol At this point, the picture taking became out of control. If you make it to the end, I applaud you.
That night we walked over to Pleasure Pier and rode everything. More than once. lol Eli even rode the big coaster Iron Shark twice! With Stephen of course (they are in the front seat in the pics! Stephen in white shirt.) Eli has no fear and loved everything! So fun!
After all the beach fun, we headed to Waco to spend 4th of July with friends. Waco is kind of our home away from home and we love getting to spend time with these Baylor friends! We swam, took a walk on campus and saw the bears, ate great food, and watched fireworks from right outside McLane Stadium. What a great 4th! (IG pics and big camera pics.)
